Using three-dimensional printed structures with vascular networks is considered as a novel cell-based therapy for regenerative medicine applications. A team of researchers at the University of Otago (New Zealand) reports a promising strategy using core shell extrusion 3D bioprinting technology that employs biomimetic biomaterials to construct regenerative, pre-vascularized scaffolds for wound care.
