Despite the extensive advances in 3D bioprinting, its in vivo application has been limited to the cases with exposed traumas (such as burn wounds) or requires a surgical operation. In a recent study by Chinese scientists, the noninvasive in vivo bioprinting of 3D constructs has been accomplished through a digital near-infrared (NIR) photopolymerization (DNP)–based 3D printing technology.
