In a collaboration between scientists from the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation, Ohio State University, and Pennsylvania State University, a gelatin-based bioink has been developed for 3D bioprinting tissue directly in the body. The method used to 3D print this bioink can alleviate the common complications along with in vitro bioprinting such as infections, and invasive and painful surgery operations required for graft implantation.
